We have seen the 74 final instructions given by bhagavath rAmAnuja. They are a very beautiful collection of instructions. Most of them are related to our interactions with bhAgavathas, how we should be respectful towards them, honour them and treat them. All of these were explained in these instructions. Similarly our AhAra niyamam, anushtAnams and AchArams were highlighted by bhagavath rAmAnuja.
Our entire life should be focused on bhagavath, bhAgavatha and AchArya kainkaryam. That is service to bhagavAn, service to his devotees (bhAgavathas) and most importantly service to our AchAryas. It is very important that we understand this critical point and conduct our life accordingly. Also, it is important for us to avoid other dhEvathAs, avoid worshipping other dhEvathAs, and avoid interacting with devotees of other dhEvathAs. These are detrimental for our spiritual progress. Hence we should be very careful about those.
Most importantly we must develop Athma guNams (noble qualities) such as humility, patience, service attitude and obedience. All of these qualities are important and we must develop them. We must avoid anya SEshathvam (serving those who don’t deserve to be served). Such aspects must be completely avoided.
Many of these aspects were discussed in the instructions given by bhagavath rAmAnuja. We have enjoyed them thoroughly and they are very valuable.
We may sometimes think that many of these instructions are impractical. Some of them are difficult to follow in current circumstances. That is understandable. But we cannot leave them thinking it’s impossible. We have to try our best to improve our own qualities and our outlook towards bhagavAn and bhAgavathas. Through our sincere desire and grace of bhagavAn SrIman nArAyaNa, AzhwArs and AchAryas, especially bhagavath rAmAnuja (emperumAnAr) that will come to us.
