Subsequently, nAyanAr left for SrIperumbUthUr, as mentioned in the SlOkam

(azhagiya maNavALar, the best among men, went to SrIperumbUthUr, the birth-place of yathirAjar (rAmAnujar), looked at the distinguishing features of the place, feeling very happy and worshipped iLayAzhwAr (rAmAnujar)). He stood near the town and enjoyed it saying

idhuvO perumbudhUr? ingE piRandhO
ethirAsar emmidaraith thIrththAr? – idhuvOdhAn
thEngum porunal thirunagarikkoppAna
Ongu pugazhudaiya Ur

(Is this SrIperumbUthUr? Is this the place where yathirAjar incarnated and rid us of our hurdles? Isn’t this the place, which has high fame, equalling AzhwAr thirunagari which has abundantly flowing thAmirabaraNi!) He entered the town, recited another pAsuram

endhai ethirAsar emmai eduththaLikka
vandha perumbudhUril vandhOmO! – sindhai
maruLO? theruLO? magizh mAlai mArban
aruLO ippERRukkadi?

(Have we reached SrIperumbudhUr where our lord, yathirAjar, came to sustain us? Is our mind getting bewildered? Or are we firmly clear? Is this fortune [of coming to SrIperumbUthUr] due to the mercy of one who has magizhamAlai (fragrant flower) garland on his chest (nammAzhwAr)?) He entered the town with bliss meditating on attaining the venerable goal which was impossible to attain. He recited the 31st pAsuram of irAmAnusa nURRandhAdhi “ANdugaL nAL thingaLAy ….. irAmAnusanaip porundhinamE” (Oh mind! We have been toiling in samsAram for years together, taking many types of births. Today, without a thought, we have rAmAnujar who has taken refuge under the divine feet of dhEvarAjap perumAL who has divine shoulders and who resides in kAnchIpuram) with his heart in wonderment. He entered the temple in SrIperumbUthUr, seeking permission to learn SrIbhAshyam (commentary written by rAmAnujar for vEdhavyAsar’s brahmA sUthram treatise). That night, in his dream, emperumAnAr mercifully came, called nAyanAr, teaching him SrIbhAshyam and told him “We will teach you SrIbhAshyam in perumAL kOyil (kAnchIpuram dhEvap perumAL kOyil). Approach kidAmbi nAyanAr. Learn it to make us and thiruvAimozhip piLLai happy and then keep spreading the commentaries of aruLichcheyal (nAlAyira dhivya prabandham) through various means”. In line with emperumAnAr’s merciful instruction, he returned to kAnchIpuram perumAL kOyil with the earnestness of listening to SrIbhAshyam compiled by rAmAnujar.
