Narrating the month, year etc of the thaniyan’s incarnation
ayOdhyA rAmAnuja aiyangAr then asked iLaiyAzhwAr piLLai about the date and month when the thaniyan and vAzhith thirunAmam came into being. iLaiyAzhwAr piLLai recited the following pAsurams
nalladhOr parithAbi varudandhannil nalamAna AvaNiyin muppaththonRil

(The Idu kAlakshEpam began in the year parithApi, AvaNi mAsam (kanni mAsam), 31st day, swAthi nakshathram, Friday, Sukla paksham chathurthi)

(The Idu sARRumuRai (final recitation of Idu) was completed in the year pramAdhI, Ani mAsam (mithuna mAsam) mUla nakshathram, Sunday, paurNami) [both the above mentioned pAsurams have been mercifully composed by appiLLAr]. ayOdhyA rAmAnuja aiyangAr then revealed how badhrikASrama nArAyaNan came in his dream and kept reciting this thaniyan (SrISailEsa dhayApAthram) until aiyangAr learnt it fully and how perumAL told him to recite it whenever he recites pAsurams as per sampradhAyam; he was both in wonderment and ecstatic as he said these. iLaiyAzhwAr and the others too were happy saying “Isn’t this thaniyan a prasAdham (offering) from bhagavAn!” and celebrated the event. rAmAnuja aiyangAr recovered himself over a period of time; he caught hold of the divine feet of iLaiyAzhwAr and requested him to take pity on him and to narrate the glories of maNavALa mAmunigaL. iLaiyAzhwAr too agreed to narrate these, but in the matam. They then completed the recitation of thiruppAvai. Sacred water and other offerings were given to iLaiyAzhwAr and others. Subsequently, iLaiyAzhwAr went to rAmAnuja aiyangAr’s matam and narrated all the glories of maNavALa mAmunigaL, making him feel happy. rAmAnuja aiyangAr too listened to all these, became totally involved with these and expressed his deep desire to worship jIyar in person. rAmAnuja dhAsar, who came along with iLaiyAzhwAr piLLai from SrIrangam, realising the mind of ayOdhyA rAmAnuja aiyangAr, told him “adiyEn will carry out kainkaryam to perumAL at badharikASramam and other dhivyadhESams for some time, as per dhEvarIr’s rules; dhEvarIr could go along with iLayAzhwAr piLLai to SrIrangam to worship jIyar’s divine feet; adiyEn will later leave for SrIrangam to worship jIyar’s divine feet”. ayOdhyA rAmAnuja aiyangAr was extremely happy on hearing this and praised rAmAnuja dhAsar with lot of affection. He then mercifully kept jIyar’s divine sandals in the proper way and left along with iLaiyAzhwAr piLLai for SrIrangam. On the way, they went to thirumalai and worshipped thiruvEngadamudaiyAn. appan (thiruvEngadamudaiyAn) showered his grace on them and ordained certain kainkaryams for ayOdhyA rAmAnuja aiyangAr due to which he had to stay back in thirumalai. While rAmAnuja aiyangAr was very happy that he could carry out kainkaryam at thirumalai, he was very sad too since he could not worship jIyar as per his desire.
