bhagavath rAmAnuja who is also popularly known as emperumAnAr, udaiyavar, SrI bhAshyakArar, kOyil aNNan, gOdhAgrajar, yathirAjr, yathIndrar etc, is the main AchArya in our SrIvaishNava sampradhAyam. He nurtured this eternal sampradhAyam which focusses on the supremacy of SrIman nArAyaNa, with the help of samskrutha vEdham and dhrAvida (thamizh) vEdham. He blessed us with nine wonderful granthams viz,
- SrI bhAshyam – A commentary for vEdha vyAsa’s brahma sUthram
- vEdhAntha dhIpam – A brief version of SrI bhAshyam
- vEdhAntha sAram – A very brief version of SrI bhAshyam
- vEdhArtha sangraham – A grantham which addresses important passages of upanishaths which were misunderstood and misrepresented by the scholars of various other sampradhAyas

- SrIranga gadhyam – A beautiful grantham which brings out the greatness of SrI ranganAtha towards whom, bhagavath rAmAnuja performs SaraNAgathi
- SrIvaikuNta gadhyam – A beautiful grantham which brings out the beauty of the eternal abode, SrIvaikuNtam.
bhagavath rAmAnuja has given many upadhESams (instructions) to many personalities at various times. These are enlisted in granthams such as virOdhi parihArangaL, guru paramparA prabhAvam 6000 padi, rAmAnujArya dhivya charithai, prapannAmrutham etc. As part of grantha kAlakshEpam of virOdhi parihArangaL, we have seen various such instructions. One such set of upadhESams is highlighted in prapannAmrutham. We have been giving brief discourses on this topic in English, which is being transcribed and curated here, in a series of articles, by SrI vEnkatEsha paidi and Smt vidhyA SrInivAsan.
