Seven hundred rAkshasis such as EkAkshi (having one eye), EkakarNi (having one ear) et al, who are such sinful that they nourish themselves by harming others, tormented pirAtti by their words and deeds for ten months.
rAkshasigaL dhOsham prasidhdham – Wherever SrI rAmAyaNam is known, there is none who is unaware of these incidents. Towards such rAkshasis, pirAtti said as in SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 116.38 “rAja samSraya vaSyAnAm” (Serving their king) and SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 116.44 “pApAnAm vA SubhAnAm vA” (Let them be sinners in your view or noble persons in my view), and pleaded to thiruvadi (hanuman) to not punish them, by highlighting their faults as noble qualities. From this, we can understand that her acceptance of dhOshams as offering is well known.
guNahAni (lack of good qualities) is not explicitly highlighted by piLLai lOkAchAryar, since if dhOshams are accepted as offering, it is obvious that guNahAni will also be accepted and need not be expressly stated.
