avathArikai (Introduction)

When asked “Still, since it is said that sarvESvaran, who is the protector will expect the desire of chEthana who is protected as said in lakshmi thanthram 17.79 “rakshyApEkshAm prathIkshathE” (Is he not expecting the desire to be protected from the chEthana?), is the chEthana’s desire not required for bhagavAn’s protection?” piLLai lOkAchAryar mercifully responds.

sUthram 63

rakshaNaththukku apEkshitham rakshyatva anumathiyE.

Simple Explanation

For his protection, he only expects the permission from the chEthana to be protected.

vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

rakshaNaththukku …

That is – for the protection of the natural protector, when bhagavAn says “you are to be protected by me” the chEthana only needs to stop rejecting such protection and accept it. It is implied that the desire which is explained in “rakshyApEkshAm” (the desire of the chEthana who is protected), is the expression of acceptance of such protection. In mumukshuppadi sUthram 228, piLLai lOkAchAryar himself explained that the svIkAram (acceptance) which is said in “yAchnA prapaththi: prArthanA mathi:” (this prayer in the form of prapaththi, the thought in the form prayer), is aprathishEdha dhyOthakam (that which reveals his non-prohibition).
