When asked “As said in mUnRAm thiruvandhAdhi 14 “mARpAl manam suzhippa mangaiyar thOL kai vittu nURpAl manam vaikka noyvidhAm” (As the heart engages towards SrIman nArAyaNan, it becomes easy to give up attachment towards the shoulders of women and engage in scriptures), as one engages in bhagavath vishayam which is desirable, seeing bhagavAn’s auspicious qualities, can we not say here that we are giving up worldly pleasures seeing their defects only?”

bhagavath vishayaththil izhigiRadhum guNam kaNdanRu; svarUpa prApthamenRu.

Even engaging in bhagavath vishayam is not by seeing his auspicious qualities, but because it is apt for the true nature of the self.

“bhagavath vishayaththil izhigiRadhum guNam kaNdanRu” says piLLai lOkAchAryar.
When asked “Then why?”
He says “svarUpa prApthamenRu “.
That is – one is holding on to bhagavath vishayam not due to bhagavAn’s auspicious qualities, but because that is apt matter of engagement for this jIvAthmA.
