Simple Explanation
AzhwAr said in periya thiruvandhAdhi 6 “neRi kAtti nIkkudhiyO” (will you remove (me) from you, showing other means?).
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
“neRikAtti nIkkudhiyO” …
That is – since AzhwAr is saying “are you showing me other means to remove me from you?” other means being calamitous is well established. nIkkugai – removing – engaging jIvAthmA, which is parathanthram (dependent) [towards emperumAn], in other upAyams which are independent efforts, and pushing away from him.
