vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
periya udaiyArkku
As said in SrI rAmAyaNam sundhara kANdam 35.11 “rAmO bhAmini lOkasya chAthurvarNasya rakshithA | maryAdhAnAm cha lOkasya karthA kArayithAchasa: ||” (Oh beautiful sIthA! SrI rAma who protects the people of all four varNas, is the one who arranges the boundaries in the world and is the one who makes others follow those boundaries) – perumAL incarnated to establish the boundaries in the world and would establish sAmAnya dharma (basic rules) through obeying father’s words etc; such SrI rAma himself, while his divine younger brother was standing beside him, mercifully performed brahma mEdha samskAram which is usually done by children or disciples for those who are great in birth, conduct etc, considering jatAyu’s great love towards SrI rAma, having destroyed self in trying to protect pirAtti, unable to bear her separation from perumAL. With this – it is shown that those who are superior by birth etc can observe the duties of children, disciples towards those distinguished bhAgavathas who are inferior in birth etc.
