sUthram 233
perumAL SrI Sabhari kaiyAlE amudhu seydharuLinAr.

perumaL (SrI rAma) mercifully ate from the hands of SrI Sabhari.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
perumAL …
That is – perumAL who is the scion of raghu clan and has most perfect conduct, as said in SrI rAmAyaNam bAla kANdam 1.57 “SabharyA pUjithas samyak rAmO dhaSarathAmaja:” (SrI rAma, the son of emperor dhASaratha, was well honoured and worshipped by Sabhari), SrI Sabhari, being a lady belonging to hunter clan, being very knowledgeable due to her matured service to her guru, picked up fruits and roots which were tasty to her tongue and preserved them for perumAL, waited for him and offered him according to her desire and attachment towards, and perumAL mercifully accepted and joyfully ate that. With this – it is explained that the items which were touched by those extremely devotional persons who are not having even a trace of pride which results from having superior birth, will be considered as greatly pure and enjoyable by those who are greatly knowledgeable and who can observe the noble qualities of others.
