Simple Explanation

When a field is filled with water, the adjacent field will also manifest freshness; similarly even those who don’t have such gyAnam, bhakthi and vairAgyam, will be freed from withering, by having a relationship with such favourable persons.

vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

oru sey …

That is – when a field is filled with water, the adjacent field which was dry due to lack of water, will become fresh due to the proximity with the other field; similarly even those whose true nature is withered due to lack of gyAnam, bhakthi and vairAgyam, due to the relationship by being with those who are full in gyAnam, bhakthi and vairAgyam, will acquire a little bit of those aspects and will be freed from withering due to lacking in those aspects.
