avathArikai (Introduction)
piLLai lOkAchAryar is explaining along with an example that the previously explained anger of AchArya, is not merely acceptable as ordained, but will be part of his goal.
sUthram 332
nigrahandhAn bhagavath nigrahampOlE prApyanthargatham.
Simple Explanation
AchArya’s anger is part of the goal as in the case of bhagavAn’s anger.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
nigrahandhAn …
That is – the anger shown by the AchArya towards self [Sishya] in the form of doing welfare is reason for elimination of self’s [Sishya’s] hurdles, as said in periya thirumozhi 5.8.3 “koNda sIRRam onRuNdu” (there is an anger which he took up), thiruvAimozhi 2.9.3 “seyyEl thIvinai” (don’t engage in bad deeds) etc, just as bhagavAn’s anger, becomes part of the end goal. Same principle is mercifully explained by periyavAchchAn piLLai in mANikka mAlai saying “Since AchArya is devoid of attachment towards wealth and desire, he will not like or dislike anyone due to that; now, if he shows anger towards the Sishya for his well-being, that will also be part of the end goal”.
