avathArikai (Introduction)

Thus, after establishing the goal, by saying this (that the means should match the goal) – revealing that for the ultimate goal of AchArya kainkaryam, the matching means is AchArya himself, showing the contradiction if ISvaran is considered as means instead of AchAryan, just as AchArya being the goal is due to his connection with ISvaran, his being the means is also due to the same connection, piLLai lOkAchAryar explained the greatness of pursuing AchAryan over ISvaran as means, previously; subsequently, with several reasons, he is highlighting the greatness of AchArya; to create taste and faith for those who pursue AchArya as the means, first, he mercifully explains how AchArya becomes the benefactor for both ISvaran and chEthanan.

sUthram 428

AchAryan iruvarkkum upakArakan.

Simple Explanation

AchArya favours both ISvaran and chEthanan.

vyAkyAnam (Commentary)

AchAryan …

That is – AchAryan who is explained as the means in this manner, grants the desirable things to both ISvaran and chEthanan, and thus becomes benefactor for both.
