AchArya svAntha vakthAram abhiramavarAbhitham |
SrI krishNa thanayam vandhE jagadhguru varAnujam ||

I worship azhagiya maNavALap perumAL nAyanAr who is the author of the divine grantham named AchArya hrudhayam, who is the son of SrI krishNa (vadakkuth thiruvIdhip piLLai) and the younger brother of piLLai lOkAchArya.

dhravidAmnAya hrudhayam guru parvakramAgatham |
ramyajAmAthru dhEvEna dharSitham krishna sUnunA ||

The meanings of thamizh vEdham (thiruvAimozhi) came through our guru paramparA; those meanings were mercifully revealed by azhagiya maNavALap perumAL nAyanAr, who is the divine son of SrI krishNa (vadakkuth thiruvIdhip piLLai).

The lord of thirukkurugUr (nammAzhwAr) explained that all AthmAs are servitors of the one (SrIranganAtha) who is reclining on AdhiSEshan who is having shining hoods; the divine heart/thought of such AzhwAr which is the essence of such literature, was spoken by azhagiya maNavALap perumAL nAyanAr, who was born in the magnanimous mudumbai clan, for the benefit of the ignorant people of the world.

azhagiya maNavALap perumAL nAyanAr explained the divine heart of mARan (nammAzhwAr) who is with great penance; from nAyanAr, a person (named peRRAr?) received this grantham; from such peRRAr, another person who was very surrendered to the first peRRAr, received this grantham; he then gave that to Ayi jananyAchAryar who was present in thirunArAyaNapuram. He then gave it to maNavALa mamunigaL who spread the glories of this grantham everywhere. Oh mind! Hence you should glorify such persons’ divine feet.
