vathsalaiyAna mAthA piLLai pEganiyAmal maN thinnavittu prathyaushadham idumApOlE evvuyirkkum thAyirukkum vaNNamAna ivanum ruchikku IdAgap pandhamum bandham aRuppadhOr marundhum kAttumiRE.
Simple Explanation
Just as a caring mother will not let her son become upset by letting him eat soil and then give him medicine, bhagavAn who is the mother of all, as per the taste, reveals bondage and the medicine which eliminates the bondage.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
That is – the caring mother who gave birth to a son, when such son desires to eat soil, without letting him feel upset, will let him eat that soil and then will give medicine to remedy that; similarly, as said in thiruvAimozhi 1.5.3 “evvuyirkkum thAyOn” (having motherly affection towards all beings of different species) and periya thirumozhi 11.6.6 “thAyirukkum vaNNamE” (Like a mother), bhagavAn who is very caring towards all chEthanas (AthmAs) like a mother, according to the taste of the AthmAs, first reveals bondage, and then subsequently reveals the medicine which eliminates the bondage.
With this, it is explained that since this action of bhagavAn is due to his motherly care based on his relationship, there is no damage to the relationship.
