For the doubt “Even if one’s relationship with AchAryan is in tact, isn’t it ISvaran who makes the true nature of the self blossom? Hence, even if such relationship is destroyed, for someone who has such noble qualities, will ISvaran not make the true nature of the self blossom?” piLLai lOkAchAryar mercifully explains.

Simple Explanation
Just as sun, which makes the lotus blossom, will make it wither away when it separates from water, ISvaran, who makes the true nature of the AthmA blossom, will make it wither away when the relationship with AchAryan is destroyed.

That is – for lotus which is known as “jalaja” (born from water) to be born from water and which sustains itself by water, the sun which is the proper one who makes it blossom as said in perumAL thirumozhi 5.6 “sengamalam andharanjEr vengadhirORkallAl alarAvAl” (Lotus does not blossom by any other means than the sun which remains on the sky), when such lotus separates from water, not just will it not make it blossom, but it will also make it wither; similarly, for AthmA whose existence is based on the relationship with AchAryan and who sustains the self through such relationship, ISvaran who makes the true nature of self blossom by making his knowledge expand as said in periya thiruvandhAdhi 76 “uLLa ulagaLavu yAnum uLanAvan” (it appears that I too will permeate all over the worlds), when such AthmA destroys such relationship with AchAryan which is the reason for his existence and sustenance, by his misunderstanding, ISvaran not just makes the AthmA not to blossom, but will also make it shrink day by day.
It is said in “nArAyaNOpi vikruthim yAthi gurO: prachyuthasya dhurbudhdhE: | kamalam jalAdhabEdham SOshayathi ravir na thOshayathi ||” (Sun will make the lotus which is separated from water to wither, not to blossom; similarly, for the evil minded person who destroyed his relationship with AchAryan, even SrIman nArAyaNan will cause shrinkage).
