avathArikai (Introduction)
Further, piLLai lOkAchAryar says “this principle is agreeable to vEdham”.
sUthram 149
ivvarththaththai vEdha purushan apEkshiththAn.
Simple Explanation
vEdha purushan (vEdham personified) agreed with this principle [explained in the previous sUthram].
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
ivvarththaththai …
ivvarththam
paragatha svIkAram (emperumAn pursuing chEthana) which was explained to be stronger.
vEdha purushan iththai apEkshiththAn
Since it is explained in katavalli upanishath and muNdaka upanishath as follows:
“nAyamAthmA pravachanEna labhyO na mEdhayA na bahunA SruthEna I yamEvaisha vruNuthE thEna labhyA: thasyaisha AthmA vivruNuthE thanUm svAm II” (this paramAthmA) cannot be attained through hearing, committing to memory and meditating, without devotion. Whoever is chosen by the paramAthmA only will attain him. This paramAthmA reveals his divine form to him).
Due to this reason, this principle is agreeable to vEdha purushan also. Repetition indicates eager acceptance.
