<< kamsa’s fear and conspiracy
akrUra who was sent by kamsa to bring krishNa and balarAma, started towards vrindhAvanam early in the morning at a quick pace. akrUra was very devoted towards krishNa. He was waiting for a long time to see krishNa. His eager journey towards vrindhAvanam is usually compared to thiruvEngada yAthrA (journey to thirumalA thiruppathi) and travelling in archirAdhi mArgam (path of light) and reaching paramapadham.
akrUra started early in the morning and went quickly towards vrindhAvanam on his chariot. While going there, he was eagerly meditating upon paying obeisance to krishNa after reaching there and krishNa picking him up with his hands and embracing him nicely. In this manner, while he reached vrindhAvanam, krishNa and balarAma were going to milk the cows. akrUra became very emotional on seeing them due to devotion. He jumped out of the chariot, ran towards krishNa and fell at his divine feet like a felled tree. krishNa picked him up with his hands and embraced him and gave him great bliss.
Subsequently, they took him inside and took care of him. nandhagOpa, balarAma and krishNa enquired the purpose for his visit. He explained kamsa’s evil intents and plan. krishNa immediately said “Let us go with akrUra”. nandhagOpa decided to send a lot of his men along with them. krishNa and balarAma boarded the chariot along with akrUra. gOpikAs cried seeing that, being unable to bear the separation from krishNa. As the chariot started moving, they started following it, but as krishNa stopped them from following him, they bid farewell to him unwillingly.
After travelling for a while, they reached the banks of yamunA river. akrUra stopped the chariot to perform his sandhyAvandhanam (ritual performed during dusk). He stepped down from the chariot and entered the river. As he was about to take some water from the river and do Achamanam (cleaning the mouth), bhagavAn manifested himself on AdhiSEshan inside the water in a wonderful manner. Being amazed, akrUra looked out and krishNa was seated on the chariot as well. Feeling blissful thinking about the way krishNa manifested as the sarvESvaran, he praised and glorified krishNa.
In this manner, akrUra took krishNa and balarAma to mathurA.
Essence in this incident:
- Everyday, we should eagerly desire to reach bhagavAn.
- Wherever one is, in whatever situation one may be in, if one remains with the urge to reach bhagavAn, bhagavAn will certainly shower his mercy to such persons.
