If it is said that this (difference in pleasure and pain) is due to the difference in bodies.
Explanation
The opponent’s objection
After establishing that the simultaneous experience of pleasure and pain proves the plurality of souls, piLLai lOkAchArya now presents the opponent’s reply.
The opponent argues:
“That (difference in pleasure and pain) is caused merely by the difference in bodies (dhEha bhEdha), and not by any difference among souls.”
