srisailesa-thanian maNavALa mAmunigaL is considered as the last AchAryan in the lineage of AchAryars starting with periya perumAL. Learning the SAsthrams and prabandhams  from his AchAryan, thiruvAimozhip piLLai,  he resided at SrIrangam, as desired by his AchAryan. periya perumAL wanted to hear Idu kAlakshEpam (discourse on thiruvAimozhi, compiled by vadakkuth thiruvIdhip pilLLai, based on nampiLLai’s discourses) through him and held up all the uthsavams at SrIrangam for one year in order to have his desire fulfilled. At the end of the kAlakshEpam, he recited a thaniyan (special hymn) in honour of maNavALa mAmunigaL, assuming the form of the son of the temple bhattar, thus recognising mAmunigaL as his AchAryan. The glory of maNavALa mAmunigaL has been written by piLLai lOkam jIyar, sometime in the later part of 16th century CE with the title of yathIndhra pravaNa prabhAvam. The term yathIndhra refers to bhagavath rAmAnujar, considered as the leader of ascetics. maNavALa mAmunigaL, considered as reincarnation of bhagavadh rAmAnujar, had deep affection towards rAmAnujar. piLLai lOkam jIyar wrote about the glories of such maNavALa mAmunigaL in his work. We shall, in the coming days, experience the nectarean quality of his writing and through that, the glory of poyyilAdha (one who did not make a false statement) maNavALa mAmunigaL. adiyEn krishNa rAmAnuja dhAsan archived in https://granthams.koyil.org/ pramEyam (goal) – https://koyil.org pramANam (scriptures) – https://granthams.koyil.org pramAthA (preceptors) – https://acharyas.koyil.org SrIvaishNava Education/Kids Portal – https://pillai.koyil.org
