avathArikai (Introduction)
When asked “But AzhwAr said that just as bhagavAn will present himself for parabhakthi, he will also do the same if we count him [as 3 in chith, achith, ISvara, or as 26 in 24 achith thathvams, 1 achith thathvam and 1 ISvara thathvam]; did AzhwAr do that?” nAyanAr says
chUrNikai 109
eNNilum varum gaNanaikku eNdAnum illai.
Simple Explanation
For the saying “Even if we count/think about bhagavAn, he will come”, AzhwAr is not having such aspect also.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
That is – when AzhwAr said in thiruvAimozhi 1.10.2 “eNNilum varum en ini vENduvam” (For those who accept his existence too, he is at their disposal. After this, is there anything to be done by us?), he merely spoke about the greatness of bhagavAn’s qualities; but he observed that he does not even have such aspect in him and said subsequently in thiruvAimozhi 1.10.5 “nenjE! karumangaL vAykkinRu Or eN thAnum inRiyE vandhu iyalumARu – kaNdAyE” (Oh mind! Did you see how the results are fructified for us even without contemplating on actions (such as adhvEsham, Abimukhyam, AsrayaNam etc)?); while the results were fructifying to have the saying “eNNilum varum” be extraneous, the results fructified – oh heart! Did you see? – AzhwAr told his divine heart. Hence, it is established even such thoughts about bhagavAn were not present in AzhwAr.
