In SrIvaishNava sampradhAyam, rahasya thrayam plays a pivotal role in nurturing the knowledge of a mumukshu (liberation seeker). rahasya thrayam is the collection of the sacred, confidential manthras viz thirumanthram (ashtAksharam), dhvaya mahA manthram and gIthA charama SlOkam. There are several sacred texts which explain rahasya thrayam in great detail. dhivya prabandham, a collection of 4000 pAsurams of AzhwArs, beautifully explain rahasya thrayam in various places. Our AchArya paramparai too, is fully focussed on explaining the confidential meanings of rahasya thrayam. 
emperumAnAr, SrI rAmAnujAchArya who is the most prominent AchArya of our sampradhAyam, himself learnt rahasya thrayam from his AchAryas and taught the same to many disciples. As a matter of fact, he got this glorious name emperumAnAr from thirukkOshtiyUr nambi, while revealing the meanings of charama SlOkam to those who desired to learn the same, parASara bhattar composed ashta SlOkI which beautifully explains rahasya thrayam in eight SlOkams. periyavAchchAn piLLai has beautifully explained rahasya thrayam in his granthams too. But, beyond all of these great personalities, piLLai lOkAchArya bestowed the great benediction of documenting these rahasyams in full detail and presenting the same for future generations, with superior clarity and elaboration. His renowned eighteen rahasya granthams are the most precious literature we have in our sampradhAyam, bringing out every important aspect which is to be known. Several granthams among these eighteen rahasya granthams, talk about rahasya thrayam. Among those, mumukshuppadi is a class apart. maNavALa mAmunigaL has composed a very beautiful and elaborate commentary for mumukshuppadi. vangIpuram sadagOpan swamy has set out to translate this beautiful commentary into English. We pray at the feet of AzhwAr, emperumAn, piLLai lOkAchAryar, jeeyar (mAmunigaL) and jeeyar (ponnadikkAl jeeyar) for the successful completion of this wonderful initiative.
