hArOpi
Simple Explanation
“hArOpi” (Even a pearl necklace).
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
As said in “hArOpi nArpitha: kaNtE sparSasamrOdha bhIruNA | AvayOrantharE jAthA: parvathAs sarithO dhrumA: ||” (sIthAp pirAtti was not even wearing a pearl necklace on her neck due to fearing that it will become a hurdle in our embrace; in between us, such intimate couple, mountains, rivers and trees are present now), perumAL said that during their union, fearing that it will be a hurdle for their mutual bodily contact, pirAtti would not even decorate her divine neck with a pearl necklace.
Here the change in lingam (gender based identity) in bhIruNA [which is associated with male gender] is Arsham (spoken by rishi, based on vEdhic language/grammar] – hence it is acceptable. Alternatively, considering that the main intent here is to announce that the ornament which is worn for decoration becomes a hurdle during embrace, as per the lingam, the fear could be associated with perumAL (SrI rama) – i.e., it can be said that perumAL feared for the presence of the necklace and hence did not wear it.
