avathArikai (Introduction)
In this manner, after mercifully explaining how SEshathvam and pArathanthryam are hurdles for bhagavAn’s enjoyment, piLLai lOkAchAryar is mercifully explaining how the chEthana’s forceful elimination of fault [body] while attaining bhagavAn will be a hurdle for his enjoyment.
sUthram 164
guNampOlE dhOsha nivruththi.
Simple Explanation
Elimination of fault is similar to qualities.
vyAkyAnam (Commentary)
guNampOlE dhOsha nivruththi
guNam
SEshathvam and pArathanthryam are internal qualities of the AthmA, which were explained previously.
dhOsha nivruththi being similar to that is:
Similar to these two internal qualities being hurdles for bhagavAn’s enjoyment, the elimination of fault, viz. the connection with material body in this world, which is done forcefully, is a hurdle for bhagavAn’s enjoyment, where bhagavAn thinks “since this is the last birth of chEthana in this material world, let me keep here [in samsAram] for some more time with this body and enjoy him”.
guNampOlE
Here it could just imply pArathanthryam only [instead of both SEshathvam and pArathanthryam].
