19. kumarith thuRaivan
The ocean on the southern side of bhAratha dhESam is known as the kumari ocean. The region near the kumari ocean is said to be the kumari region. Even today, it is known as kanyAkumAri. In that region, the thAmirabharaNi river is present along the dhivyadhESam thirukkurugUr (AzhwAr thirunagari). Since nammAzhwAr was living on the banks of the thAmirabharaNi river, he is known as kumarith thuRaivan.
This name is similar to the name porunal thuRaivan (nammAzhwAr is a resident of the banks of the river thAmirabharaNi). kumarith thuRaivan, means one who resides in the region of kumari on the banks of the thAmirabharaNi river.
20. dheyva gyAnach chemmal
dheyva gyAnam means divine knowledge, knowledge about artha panchakam, and specifically knowledge about bhagavAn. All of this knowledge is perfectly available in nammAzhwAr and he is complete with all the divine knowledge which was blessed by bhagavAn himself. chemmal means the best, the great. AzhwAr is the one who is great and possesses dheyva gyAnam (divine knowledge). We can also say that AzhwAr is great because he possesses divine knowledge. Therefore, dheyva gyAnach chemmal means the one who is great and eminent in the divine knowledge about bhagavAn.
